Veterans and their families

If you have served, you will not have to explain the basics.

A great deal of this practice's clinical experience is with veterans, including combat readjustment, post-traumatic stress, and the strain it puts on the people at home. David is a veteran of the United States Army, and has counseled veterans at the Babylon Vet Center and the Northport VA.

Our approach

A supportive, nonjudgmental space

No one arrives in counseling as a single problem to be solved. Concerns are shaped by family and relationships, by work and school, by health, faith, finances, culture, and history. Counseling here begins by taking all of it seriously.

The work is collaborative. Together we identify what is actually happening, name the strengths you already bring, build coping strategies that fit your real life, and move toward resolutions that make a durable difference.

You do not have to be ready. Nobody arrives with their thoughts organized, their words chosen, or their life tidied up first. If today all you can manage is a phone call and a rough idea of what is wrong, that is a perfectly good place to start. We will meet you where you are and go from there.

  • Holistic assessment. Emotional, social, environmental, and individual factors, not symptoms in isolation.
  • Strengths-based. We build on what is already working before addressing what isn't.
  • Practical and goal-directed. You leave sessions with strategies you can use this week.
  • Every generation welcome. From young children to senior citizens, with deep experience across the full age range.

Getting started

Reaching out is often the hardest part. Here is exactly what happens after you do.

  1. Call or send a message

Tell us briefly what you are looking for. Counseling, an assessment for a court or agency, or a program for your organization. You do not need to explain everything up front.

  2. A short conversation

We talk by phone to understand your situation, answer your questions about fees and scheduling, and confirm that this practice is the right fit for what you need.

  3. Your first appointment

We meet in Suffolk County Medford, in Springfield Gardens Queens, or online. The first session is about understanding your full picture and agreeing on where to begin.

  4. Ongoing, collaborative work

Session frequency and length are set with you, and revisited as things change. For assessments, you receive a clear timeline for the written report.

Ready when you are.

New clients are currently being accepted for in-person counseling at both offices, and for online sessions domestically and internationally.
